Congregation Beth Simchat Torah, the first LGBT synagogue in the world, was founded in 1973 in New York City by ten gay Jews. Used in 1978, this flyer was a form of promotion used to get information out in a succinct manner to the larger-Jewish community of NYC to help increase attendance to services. Simchat Torah was one of the key players in establishing the World Congress of Gay and Lesbian Jews, and was in the forefront for LGBT-Jewish political change.
