Conservative, Reform Rabbis Take Major Steps Toward Acceptance: A non-credited author writing for the Digest, a newsletter discussing news specifically for LGBT Jewish individuals around the world, wrote a semi-critical response to two paramount decisions made by the overarching board of American Rabbis for Reform and Conservative Judaism. The writing contrasted Reform judaism’s decision to start allowing LGB rabbis but also was covered with an encouragement for said individuals to stay in the closet with Conservative judaism’s bare-bone announcement to encourage LGB jews to come out in their synagogues on top of a declaration that heterosexuality was still considered the only way to fulfill mitzvahs.
